Tim Orr ....  Apprentice Electric Motor Rewinder

Tim Orr is well into the third year of his Electric Motor Rewinding Apprenticeship with New Zealand Rewinds and Te Puke Rewinds.

Tim is 20 Years old and Lives at Mount Maunganui. He is the son of Greg and Karen Orr, who own New Zealand Rewinds, at Mount Maunganui.

Tim is based at Te Puke Rewinds at present with getting experience in both shops. The work is so varied it is challenging and exciting.

Tim has found the last three years excitingly challenging with starting his apprenticeship and learning to work in a workshop environment, being part of a team.

Tim attends The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic to do his apprenticeship book work and is currently attending two nights a week. Tim has found the start of his career as an electric motor rewinder very rewarding. He finds each job he does different and with  needing different repairs each job is a challenge. The workshop is always busy with customers coming in and bringing in work so dealing with customers has been a new experience too.

Greg and Karen are thrilled with the way Tim has taken up his responsibility with the apprenticeship and working life in general as he was straight out of school when he started.

Greg says.... It is really important to take on the young guys as it keeps the trade alive.

Tim is looking forward to what the next year brings in his apprenticeship.
